From The Ashes: 1922 Irish Public Record Office Fire • On June 30th, 1922, the Four Courts and the neighbouring Public Record Office of Ireland (PRO) were consumed by fire, with the destruction of over 800 years’ worth of documents relating to Irish history and genealogy.
